The DNGC Junior structure has 5 ability levels: PARS, BIRDIES, EAGLES, CADETS, JUNIORS. The EAGLES and CADETS are supervised by approved volunteers to help them transition from the practice area to the main course and obtain a local DNGC handicap, after which unaccompanied golf can be played on the full course.

ClubGolf is the entry level stage for children to learn how to play golf. It is open to all children and no DNGC membership is required.

All equipment (clubs, balls, tees etc) can be provided, so it is easy for children to start playing golf.

The cost is £3 per hour long session / child (non-members of DNGC) and £2 for DNGC members. ClubGolf is run by Level 1 PGA approved coaches.

Children will be taught how to:
1. hold the club
2. make a putting stroke
3. play a chip shot
4. play a pitch shot
5. play a full shot
6. understand basic rules of golf, to enable them to play golf on a full course

The aim of ClubGolf is for children to:
1. enjoy their initial experience of golf
2. be able to play on the course, safely and with confidence
3. be sufficiently competent to obtain a local DNGC golf handicap

Sessions are held on:
– Sunday at 5pm to 6pm
– Sunday at 6pm to 7pm
– Monday at 5pm to 6pm

ClubGolf sessions start on the first Sunday after Easter (dates confirmed annually) until the start of the school summer holidays, when they stop for the duration of the school holidays.
They start again on the Sunday after school resumes in August and finish when the clocks go back in October.

Parents, relatives and carers are welcome to help in assisting the coaches running the sessions.

Should you wish to volunteer please contact Geoffrey, Ian or Derek for further details.
