General Members Information

Dress Code

Members, visitors and guests are expected to be smartly dressed at all times, appropriate to the time and the occasion.

Banned at alll times are football/rugby type shirts and shorts, vest type shirts and track suits. Shorts, if worn, must be tailored and worn with sports socks. Denim jeans and trainers are not encouraged, but, subject to these being in a clean and reasonable condition, are acceptable in the Clubhouse. Denim jeans and trainers are not allowed on the golf course at any time. Members are responsible for their guests conforming to the dress code.

Staff and Board members have the authority to ask any Member, Guest or Visitor not suitably dressed to leave the premises. Any dispute arising from the interpretation of these rules will be determined by the Board.

Rules and Etiquette of Golf

All persons playing the course will, at all times observe the rules of the game of golf, together with such local rules as the Match and Handicap committee may determine. Local rules will be printed on the score card, and any amendment displayed on the appropriate notice board in the clubhouse. Rules for competitions i.e. use of starting sheets, procedures and rules for entry to competitions and submision of scorecards will be displayed in the clubhouse.

Practice Ground

The Professional and his Assistants have priority on the practice ground when giving lessons. Non-members are not permitted to use the practice ground except when receiving lessons from the Professional or his Assistant 

Seniors and Vets

The Seniors is for any member who is 55 or over. The Club participates in the Central and Lothian Retired members League, and also in several friendly matches through the year.

The Vets is for any member who is 60 or over. Wednesday Stableford Competitions are arranged, and count towards the 3 scores required to maintain your handicap. Match Play Competitions - Gents Singles, Gents Foursomes and Mixed Foursomes are held.

Senior friendlies and all Vets competitions are played from the yellow tees. 

Details, with dates and rules of all matches and competitions are posted on the noticeboard as well as the website, and all eleigible members are cordially invited to participate.

Ladies Seniors are aged 55 and over. Ladies Vets are 65 and over.

Ladies’ Day: Tuesdays
Normal tee reservations are:
8.15am - 10.30am
12.45pm - 2.30pm
4.45pm - 6.00pm
Tuesday Medal Draws
Morning Silver 8.25am (on the tee by 8.30am)
Mixed 8.55am (on the tee by 9.00am)
Bronze 9.25am (on the tee by 9.30am)
Mixed 9.45am (on the tee by 9.55am)
Cat 5+ 10.10am (on the tee by 10.15am)
Lunchtime Silver 12.55pm (on the tee by 1.00pm)
Bronze 1.25pm (on the tee by 1.30pm)
Mixed 1.55pm (on the tee by 2.00pm)
Evening Mixed 5.00pm, 5.30pm
Anyone wishing to play after 5.30pm will need to arrange a partner and book a starting time no later than 6.00pm

N.B. No Fourballs before 8.15am, between 12.00noon and 12.45pm and between 4.00pm and 4.45pm.

Junior Section

Fridays
Normal Tee Reservations are:
4.00pm – 6.00pm during School Term Time
12.00noon – 1.30pm during Easter and Summer School Holidays

Members Guests

Members are entitled to take guests out on the course using their privilege tickets. The Professional will keep a control list, which must be signed when each guest is introduced. 12 guests are allowed per year. The same guest may only play six times per year, irrespective of the introducing member. The introduced guest must play with the introducing member. The privilege tickets currently cost £10 per head for weekdays and weekends.
